AirPods are Bluetooth earbuds made by Apple Inc.. They feature new user interactions; for example, removing an AirPod from one’s ear causes playback to pause, and double tapping them activates the Siri software agent,[1] or play and pause playback. AirPods can play audio from any device that supports Bluetooth but work best with Apple devices running iOS 10.

AirPods were introduced on September 7, 2016, alongside the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2. Apple originally planned to release the AirPods in late October,[3] but the company delayed the release date.

On December 13, 2016, Apple released the AirPods to be ordered online. They were available at Apple Stores, Apple Authorized Resellers, and select carriers on December 20.

With the release of iOS 10.3, users are able to locate missing AirPods by triggering a ringing noise through the “Find My iPhone” app.[7]

Apple incoporates their own custom designed chip, the W1 into Airpods, which will help optimize the battery use and process the Bluetooth connection as well as audio.

The Hardware

Each AirPod weighs 0.14 oz (4 g), and its charging case weighs 1.34 oz (38 g). It uses Bluetooth and Apple’s W1 chip. It holds a charge for about five hours, and the charging case can charge it for up to 24 hours of usage.[10]

AirPods also contain upgradeable firmware, although it is unknown whether the charging case is capable of receiving firmware updates. Since launch, Apple has upgraded the AirPod firmware from 3.3.1 to 3.5.1.[11]

During a teardown, each AirPod earbud was found to contain a 93 milliwatt hour battery in its stem, while the charging case was found to contain a 1.52 watt hour battery.

Pros and Cons

One criticism of AirPods is their high price. Another criticism is the perceived ability to fall out of one’s ear; however, testing by Business Insider has shown that it is quite unlikely for this to happen during normal use.[13]

From a product design viewpoint, the list of criticisms includes:

Suboptimal sound quality as judged by an audiophile
Increased likelihood of being misplaced or lost
Poor usability, contradicting key design principles and making users’ lives more complicated
Increased safety risks, such as them being snatched by thieves
“Dorky”, “ridiculous”, “weird” appearance when wearing them

Another prominent criticism was an issue that caused the charging case battery to deplete at a rapid rate despite the AirPods not being used. Users were reporting upwards of 30% idle discharge per day. Since then, Apple has upgraded AirPods to firmware 3.5.1, available to all users, which has addressed connectivity issues and battery drain issues

Street art is visual art created in public locations, usually unsanctioned artwork executed outside of the context of traditional art venues. The term gained popularity during the graffiti art boom of the early 1980s and continues to be applied to subsequent incarnations. Stencil graffiti, wheatpasted poster art or sticker art, and street installation or sculpture are common forms of modern street art. Video projection, yarn bombing and Lock On sculpture became popularized at the turn of the 21st century.

The terms “urban art”, “guerrilla art”, “post-graffiti” and “neo-graffiti” are also sometimes used when referring to artwork created in these contexts] Traditional spray-painted graffiti artwork itself is often included in this category, excluding territorial graffiti or pure vandalism.

“People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish… but that’s only if it’s done properly.”

Street art is often motivated by a preference on the part of the artist to communicate directly with the public at large, free from perceived confines of the formal art world. Street artists sometimes present socially relevant content infused with esthetic value, to attract attention to a cause or as a form of “art provocation”.

Street artists often travel between countries to spread their designs. Some artists have gained cult-followings, media and art world attention, and have gone on to work commercially in the styles which made their work known on the streets.

Where to find it

Graffiti is characteristically made up of written words that are meant to represent a group or community in a covert way and in plain sight. The tell tale sign of street art is that it usually includes images, illustrations, or symbols that are meant to convey a message. While both works are meant to represent or tell a message to viewers, one difference between the two comes in the specific viewers that it is meant for. As stated earlier, graffiti displays a covert message in plain site by using terminology or messaging that is not made to be recognizable or understandable to viewers who are outside of the community or group for which it represents. One trait of street art that has helped to bring it to positive light in the public eye is that the messages shown in these public spaces are usually made to be understandable to all.

While both of these types of art have many differences, there are more similarities than their origins. Both graffiti and street art are works of art that are created with the same intent. Most artists, whether they are working anonymously, creating an intentionally incomprehensible message, or fighting for some greater cause are working with the same ambitions for popularity, recognition, and the public display or outpouring of their personal thoughts, feelings, and/or passions.

The term street art is described in many different ways, one of which is the term “guerrilla art.” Both terms describe these public works that are placed with meaning and intent. They can be done anonymously for works that are created to confront more taboo public issues that will result in backlash, or under the name of a well-known artist. In any case and terminology, these works of art are created as a primary way to express the artists thoughts on many topics and more commonly, public issues.

One defining trait or feature of street art is that it is created on or in a public area without or against the permission of the owner. This is a trait which falls in line with that of graffiti. A main distinction between the two comes in the second trait of street art or guerrilla art, where it is made to represent and display a purposefully uncompliant act that is meant to challenge its surrounding environment. This challenge can be granular, focusing on issues within the community or broadly sweeping, addressing global issues on a public stage.

This is how the term “guerilla art” was associated with this type of work and behavior. The word ties back to guerilla warfare in history where attacks are made wildly, without control, and with no rules of engagement. This type of warfare was dramatically different than the previously formal and traditional fighting that went on in wars normally. When used in the context of street art, the term guerilla art is meant to give nod to the artist’s uncontrolled, unexpected, and often unnamed attack on societal structure or norms

There are two main types of islands in the sea: continental and oceanic. There are also artificial islands.

Tropical Island Resort

Tropical Islands Resort is a tropical theme park located in the former Brand-Briesen Airfield in Krausnick, in the Halbe municipality in the district of Dahme-Spreewald in Brandenburg, Germany, 50 kilometres from the southern boundary of Berlin. It is housed in the former CargoLifter airship hangar (known as the Aerium), the biggest free-standing hall in the world. The hall belonged to the company CargoLifter until its insolvency in 2002.

Tropical Islands has a maximum capacity of 6,000 visitors a day. In its first year of operation it attracted 975,000 visitors, according to the operators. What is a superfood?

Superfood is a marketing term used to describe foods with supposed health benefits. The term is not in common use by dietitians and nutrition scientists, many of whom dispute that particular foods have the health benefits often claimed by advocates of particular food. Catherine Collins, for instance, the chief dietitian at St George’s Hospital in London has stated that “[t]he term ‘superfoods’ is at best meaningless and at worst harmful… There are so many wrong ideas about superfoods that I don’t know where best to begin to dismantle the whole concept

Examples of Superfoods

Possibly the most frequently mentioned superfood group, berries remain only under preliminary research and are not yet certain of providing health benefits. Specifically, blueberries, as a popular superfood example, are not especially nutrient-dense (considered to be a superfood characteristic), having moderate content of only three essential nutrients: vitamin C (an antioxidant), vitamin K and manganese. Blueberries are commonly branded as having a high dose of antioxidants, particularly anthocyanins for which antioxidant properties have been demonstrated only in vitro. However, this antioxidant effect is not conserved after anthocyanin-rich plant foods are consumed. As interpreted by the Linus Pauling Institute and European Food Safety Authority, dietary anthocyanins and other flavonoids have little or no direct antioxidant food value following digestion.

A food such as spinach or kale, by contrast, contains many nutrients rich in content and so may confer nutritional benefits beyond those of other foods moderate in nutrient content, such as berries.

Super fruits

Superfruit is a marketing term first used in the food and beverage industry in 2004. Superfruit has no official definition in major consumer markets, e.g., Europe or the United States by regulatory authorities such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or U.S. Department of Agriculture. The designation of a fruit as a superfruit is entirely up to the product manufacturer, as the term is primarily a marketing tool used to create consumer demand.

Keys to marketing a successful superfruit product include the native fruit qualities, scientific evidence suggesting a potential health benefit, marketing, protection of intellectual property and developing a strategy to attract consumers. Combined in the right way, these elements may allow a fruit to achieve “critical mass” as a superfruit.

To date, superfruits have been developed mainly as juices, but began in 2007 to appear as single piece products or as ingredients for functional foods, confectioneries and cosmetics. Current industry development includes applications for creating novel consumer products, such as energy drinks, dietary supplements, and flavors with nutrient qualities, e.g. fortified water, popcorn or snack chips.

Although used in new food and beverage products, superfruits remain undefined by scientific criteria that would allow consumers to objectively assess nutrient value and potential for furnishing health benefits. Consequently, the term superfruit is used liberally to include fruits having sparse scientific evidence for being “super” other than being relatively unknown to common consumers.
